Emerald Island

We use this expression for describing the country of Ireland.
This is because of all the green spaces that this country has.
Some of these green areas in Dublin are: The Phoenix park, St. Stephens Green, St. Anne's park etc...
St.Anne's park is a public park, very nice, situated between Raheny and Clontarf.

The park is the second largest municipal park in Dublin, it has got 202 hectares state assembled by members of the Guinness family; beginning with Benjamin Lee Guinness in 1835.
There are different animals in the park such as: Rabbits, foxes, squirrels, badgers.... But at the moment we haven't seen any of them except for squirrels
St. Anne's park is the perfect place to practice sports like football, rugby, footing, tennis, golf.... or walking the dog and being with friends.

Last week when we went to the park, we did races; first the girls and then the boys, and I won the girl race. After this, we played football and had a great time.
It was a great afternoon.
