Croke Park

Today (on Monday, 8 of July) we went to Croke Park. It was a really good excursion.

Croke Park is a sports stadium which is used for two main sports played in Ireland: Gaelic football and hurling. This stadium was opened in 1913 and it was renovated in 2004. The capacity of this stadium is about 82000 spectators.

In the beginning we went to the museum where we saw a short documentary about this great place. From this film we got to know about a lot historical sport events that were held in Croke Park. After that we had the possibility to play gaelic football and hurling. It was fantastic.

Then we went inside the stadium to see the changing rooms and bathrooms of the teams and finally, we went to the pitch. We had very good views from there! The stadium looks bigger from the inside than from the outside. So we took some photos and went out of the stadium. All in all, I can tell you that it was a very good trip for the whole group, because we saw the most important sport monument of Ireland.
