Powerscourt and Glendalough (Álvaro García Sierra)

Today we met at 8:45 in school to go to Powerscourt, a large estate in Enniskerry. We went by bus, it was brilliant, with mobile chargers, wi-fi and even a bathroom!

After an hour we arrived there, we saw a splendid garden with many types of plants and fountains. The mansion was very beautiful too.

After Powerscourt,, we went to Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains National Park which had a huge lake that was formed by the movement of glaciers thousand of years ago. The landscape was awesome. There was also an ancient monastery from the fifth century with a Round Tower that was used as a defense against Vikings. The door was 5 metres from the floor and you had to use a ladder to enter. There was also a Celtic Cross. It is said that if you can surround it with your arms and your hands touch then  you will get married in a year. We walked to the lake and spent some time relaxing in the grass.

That was our day, we had a great time and enjoyed it a lot!
